"Similar to the excellent 2005, this bottling needs some time in the cellar to let the fruit, tannins, acids and oak knit together. Tasted in early winter of 2009, it's fresh and dramatic, with ripe flavors of cherries, raspberries, currants, cola, licorice, orange zest and cedar. Try toward 2010."

"Keyed in the nose on the pure, cherry-like fruit that exemplifies Russian River Valley Pinot Noir at its best, this wine shows both plenty of depth and an uncommon sense of sophistication right from the very first."

"The coolest site in the Merry Edwards’ empire is Tobias Glen and is usually the last to be harvested. The 2006 is a concentrated gathering of black and blue fruit. Here, the Merry Edwards magic is visible. She began purchasing the fruit in 2003 and began revitalizing the vines with organic mushroom compost. Today, the wine has an earthy richness and concentration that should cellar for the long term.", June 2, 2009

"This Pinot opens with a faint red cherry and plum like bouquet with a hint of spice detected as well. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth, and very easy to drink. It displays juicy strawberry flavors with hints of light raspberry and licorice mixed in as well. The finish is quite dry and its noticeable medium tannins linger for quite some time. This wine would pair very nicely with prime rib or an herb encrusted rack of lamb.", May 18, 2009
