2006 Tobias Glen Pinot Noir
"Similar to the excellent 2005, this bottling needs some time in the cellar to let the fruit, tannins, acids and oak knit together. Tasted in early winter of 2009, it's fresh and dramatic, with ripe flavors of cherries, raspberries, currants, cola, licorice, orange zest and cedar. Try toward 2010."
Wine Enthusiast, August 2009
"Keyed in the nose on the pure, cherry-like fruit that exemplifies Russian River Valley Pinot Noir at its best, this wine shows both plenty of depth and an uncommon sense of sophistication right from the very first."
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine, June 2009
"This Pinot opens with a faint red cherry and plum like bouquet with a hint of spice detected as well. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth, and very easy to drink. It displays juicy strawberry flavors with hints of light raspberry and licorice mixed in as well. The finish is quite dry and its noticeable medium tannins linger for quite some time. This wine would pair very nicely with prime rib or an herb encrusted rack of lamb."
